I’ll walk through how to delete all the emails in a single folder and then what you need to do to delete all of the emails in Gmail. The problem a lot of people find when they try to delete large numbers of emails, is that by default Gmail will only delete the number of emails shown in a page. The page size can be as low as 10 conversations or as high as 100 but it usually defaults to 25 conversations. You can change the number of conversations shown in your Gmail settings. STEP 1 - Delete all the emails in folder 1. Let’s start by going into Gmail and deleting all the mails in one folder. 2. Lets click into this example folder, you’ll see it has over 100 emails 3. To delete all the emails in a folder let's start by choosing the ‘Select all’ checkbox at the top. 4. You’ll see that only 25 conversations are selected by default in this case. But Gmail does offer an option to choose all the remaining emails in the folder by clicking the Select all conversations in the folder link 5. Gmail confirms all conversations in the folder have been selected. 6. To delete all the emails we now choose the delete icon from the top of the top bar 7. And Gmail confirms those conversations have now been deleted. STEP 2 - Delete all emails in Gmail Deleting all the emails in Gmail can be done just as easily as a single folder. 1. In this case lets find the ‘All Mail’ folder, and click into that. All Mail is used in Gmail as a catch-all folder for every email that is sent or received by Gmail and that includes drafts, sent and archived emails. 2. Just like with the previous folder, to delete all emails in this page view we choose the “Select All” checkbox and to select every email in the folder, let’s choose the “select all conversations” link 3. HEALTH WARNING - Before you proceed any further steps to delete all these conversations WILL delete every email in Gmail - this will include any personal or family emails that you may want to keep so be super sure you want to delete all emails before you carry on. 4. To delete all emails we choose the delete icon in the top bar. 5. And Gmail confirms that all the emails have been deleted. When you are deleting large numbers of emails it can take a little a number of minutes for Gmail to work through all of the deletions. STEP 3 - Remember to check your bin folder When you delete emails, Gmail automatically moves those emails to a bin folder. If you have storage space concerns, then remember that you will need to empty your bin in order to save that space. To do that, we simply click into the bin folder and choose the “Empty bin” option -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 🕔 Key Moments 00:00 | Intro 00:20 | Overview 00:53 | Delete all emails in a single folder in Gmail 02:18 | Delete all emails in Gmail 04:24 | Saving storage space by clearing out your trash folder 05:21 | Wrap up 🔎 Useful links See more info on how email deletion works in Gmail in this article from the Google Support Center - Delete or recover deleted Gmail messages https://support.google.com/mail/answe... ✅ Links referenced in this video Once logged into Google, Gmail can be found at https://mail.google.com/mail 👍 Subscribe to the Woggle Guides YouTube channel If this guide has helped you, please help others to find this Woggle Guide and SUBSCRIBE at this link - https://bit.ly/3jW5rPf 🤜 Connect with Woggle Guides Twitter: https://bit.ly/2ZrU0oQ Facebook: https://bit.ly/2OCizgD Thanks for taking the time to read and watch this Woggle Guide!
