Today in this video I am going to step by step guide you How To connect to Oracle database with eclipse ide using Database Services tool , so you can work with and manage Oracle databases right inside eclipse ide without having to use an external program like SQL Developer or SQLPlus Command Line Client . What is database connectivity? Database connectivity allows the client software to communicate with the database server software. It is an interface that allows communication between the database and the software application. Elements of frontend applications/websites like buttons, fonts, or menus need to be connected to the database (back-end) to deliver relevant information to the end-user. Database connectivity allows this type of communication/data transfer between the frontend and backend applications. Steps to Connect Java Application with Database Below are the steps that explains how to connect to Database in Java: Step 1 – Import the Packages Step 2 – Load the drivers using the forName() method  Ex:-Class.forName(“oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver") Step 3 – Register the drivers using DriverManager  Step 4 – Establish a connection using the Connection class object Ex:- Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection(url,user,password) user: Username from which your SQL command prompt can be accessed. password: password from which the SQL command prompt can be accessed. con: It is a reference to the Connection interface.
