ADHD has been associated with a childhood trauma by many psychological thinkers and practitioners especially those engaged in deep trauma healing work including Teal Swan. They propose that could it not be that ADHD is a convenient process and means adopted by the subconscious mind to protect the child from the trauma they were exposed to. Common ADHD symptoms are not being able to focus and the constant movement of one's focus from one thing to another almost in an involuntary fashion. Could this not be itself a perfectly perceived solution by the subconscious to protect the child from not consciously taking much notice of the trauma they are experiencing.
