I have a lot of respect for Metal Gear Solid's Solid Snake voice actor, David Hayter. David has played the role of Solid Snake for a very long time, and done a great job with it. When Metal Gear Solid 5 launched, and David was not playing the voice roles of Big Boss or Venom Snake, I was pretty disappointed. I still think Kiefer Sutherland did a good job, but David was a staple for the franchise, and it was a bummer to not see him return. It turns out, there was a lot of drama behind the scenes with the voicework and localization of the Metal Gear Solid games. Hideo Kojima, despite being beloved by fans of Metal Gear, didn't seem to like David's portrayal of Snake that much, and there were a lot of attempts to replace him.
