LIVE: Pope Francis’ coffin moved to St. Peter’s Basilica
HAPPENING NOW: The body of Pope Francis is being transferred from Casa Santa Marta to St. Peter’s Basilica. Upon arrival, the camerlengo will lead the Liturgy of the Word, marking the beginning of the public viewing. As the Pope lies in state for three days, dressed in traditional papal vestments, the camerlengo also assumes responsibility for the daily administration of the Vatican until the funeral, which will take place in St. Peter’s Square.
