Boyhood - Patricia Arquette Interview

'This movie was a gift': Patricia Arquette interview In the remarkable new film Boyhood, director Richard Linklater got his cast to commit to a shooting schedule that stretched over 12 years. His central aim was to capture his main character Mason (Ellar Coltrane) age on screen from six to 18, but he was equally concerned about chronicling the changes in his adult characters. In a heart-rending performance likely to attract Oscar attention, Patricia Arquette plays Mason's harried mother Olivia, a woman left by a deadbeat dad (Ethan Hawke) to raise her family on her own. In this interview Arquette discusses the unique experience she had making the film and why she agreed to such an unusual project. "It was a beautiful experience making it," she says. "It was one of the great gifts, artistically, in my life that I've ever had." She also responds to suggestions the film has been over-rated and touches on her work in Medium and True Romance. The film is now screening. Click here to see the trailer: http://tinyurl.com/lpcpm6j .
