Richard Bernier’s gardening hobby started as a preteen when one of his elderly neighbours hired him (his first job) to help them in their garden. They showed him what plants were weeds and directed him to a vegetable garden that was in dire need of weeding. He gardened on and off until his teens when he discovered indoor plants. So started his journey in plant husbandry–the gardening bug had bitten him! After moving to the coast in 1994, he became enamored with the climate and developed a taste for exotics plants both indoor and outdoor.
