English translation of Surah An-Naba (Chapter 78) from the Quran: What are they asking one another about? About the momentous news, over which they disagree. But no! In time they will come to know. Again, no! In time they will come to know. Have We not made the earth as a bed, and the mountains as pegs? We created you in pairs, and made your sleep a means of rest, and made the night a cover. We made the day for earning a livelihood. We built seven firmament above you. We have made [everything] as a lamp and [given it] as an ornament. And We sent down rain from the sky in a measured amount, and settled it in the ground. But if We had willed, We could have caused it to be bitter. So why are you not thankful? Have you considered the fire which you ignite? Is it you who produced the tree for it, or are We the producer? We made it a reminder, and a benefit for the wayfarers. So glorify the name of your Lord, the Magnificent. This is a basic translation of the chapter.
