Makarov mutters "С нами Бог", translated as "God is with us" in English. He then states to the group in English, "Remember... no Russian." When the elevator opened, they slowly walked out into an airport security checkpoint where all of the gunmen opened fire on the civilians. Airport security attempted to stop the gunmen, but their pistols were no match for the assailants' M240s and body armor. As the gunmen continued wreaking havoc on the airport, FSB teams were deployed on the tarmac to confront them, but were no match for their flashbangs and heavy weapons. In the ensuing chaos, both Kiril and Lev were killed. Makarov, Allen and Viktor then made their way to their getaway vehicle, where Anatoly was waiting for them, unsurprised with Kiril and Lev's deaths. Makarov proceeded to help Allen on board the vehicle, before fatally shooting him at point-blank range with a M9 pistol, having been aware that he was an undercover agent sent by Shepherd. They leave Allen's body behind and speed off as more FSB agents swarm in and discover Allen's body. Despite knowing that Makarov had conducted the attack, Allen's presence, the gunmens' use of American-made equipment and military jargon led the Russian government to believe that the United States had sponsored Makarov's attack.
