Ducati Multistrada 1200S Navihalter Brace for Garmin 590LM

I found that the Garmin 590LM, while being a wonderful unit, is a tad heavy for the NaviHalter installation bracket. As a result, it tends to bounce around a bit much when you encounter uneven road surfaces. This bouncing had me a bit concerned since the Navihalter is secured in place with a single wellnut. So I built a small triangular brace from some scrap aluminum and attached it using the holes in the Navihalter that are intended for securing your wire harness with Ty-wraps. Then I drilled a hole through the wind screen the same size as the other three windshield mounts. I then installed a grommet and a 5mm screw to secure the Navihalter to the windscreen. This braces the installation nicely, putting an end to the bouncing I was experiencing. Note that the hardware shown here is temporary as the Ducati parts, (screw and grommet) are on order. Once installed, this should look almost factory.
