After you choose the Ruler for playing the game there is talk or scene where Zemeckis is persuade by Cador to Betray the Current King Henguist (sorry if i am wrong about the name xD) and then The Old country of Almekia became the Esgares Empire Country and Almekia become the name of New Almekia which is Prince Lance is succesor of the throne but he was runaway with Gereint to King Coel place ok thats it which i can explain xD. Each character of knight has background story that you can check which is i think pretty cool to learn xD There is 6 country you can play New Almekia, Norgard, Iscalio , Leonia, Carleon and Esgares Empire (with special code to play only for Esgares xD) There is many unique monster for your knight to help battling your enemy which is you have to choose which one you think is best composition for your knight , because each knight has different Runepower each which is capacity to bring monster in battle . There is Equip,Item,Knight and sometime monster that you can get if you do Quest in the game (you cannot do Quest with your Ruler keep it in mind xD) ,or you can just Summon the monster from your castle which is each castle has different monster to summon so pick carefully.
