For Children's SNAKE!

For Children's SNAKE! is one of our projects on ASC's Power2Give website (www.power2give.org) Project Amount: $1,680.00 Who does this program help? Children! Snakes! Ecosystems, oh my! Help us create a NEW ecosystems program for our third through eighth grade classes. We have excited children, we have enthusiastic educators, and we need you to help us bring home a new slithery friend for Discovery Place. Introducing children to live animals increases their respect for the natural world, creates higher retention rates of science concepts, and ignites an interest in science. Help us increase knowledge of ecosystems to students by showing them how animals adapt and survive in various biomes -- a new snake would be a welcome addition to the curriculum! Students will have the opportunity to interact with various animals in our Explore More Life lab, and with your help a Children's Python snake (Antaresia children). This 4-foot evenly tempered snaked from Australia will interact with the classes so that the students can experience adaptations in person. BUT, this snake is still in Australia. We need your support to help bring this special animal to its new home at Discovery Place. How will your gift help? We have the children, we have the ecosystem knowledge, but we need YOU to help us get the snake! A donation of $10 or more will help our team acquire a Children's Python snake for our ecosystem class in the Explore More Life lab. What are the benefits to you?
