When I blow glass, I forget everything else: there is no outside world, only me, the molten glass, the music, and the special, wonderful people I love being around. 🔥 I am especially grateful to my instructor, Dave Vogt, because it was during his class that I first discovered Postmodern Jukebox. Dave always turns on a radio station under the same name, and for three hours, I am surrounded by beautiful vintage-style music. 🔥 PMJ is not just an ordinary band, but a musical collective created by Scott Bradlee, bringing together singers and musicians who transform well-known songs into masterpieces with a classic flair — with the spirit of jazz, swing, soul, and blues. They take music from across genres — pop, rock, R&B, hip hop, and more — and completely reinvent it, turning each piece into a soulful retro sound that reveals new facets and unexpected depths of the original. This music is so full of joy that I can not help but dance, and often, others in the hot shop start to sway or move to the rhythm too. Glassblowing itself begins to feel like a kind of dance. 🔥 Music holds a very special place in my soul. It is an essential part of my life, a universe I can not imagine living without. I love different genres, sometimes even opposite in style and mood, and I enjoy how music allows me to express myself and reflect my state of mind. I do not play instruments or sing, but music is still the language through which I connect with the world. 🔥 For me, PMJ became a true discovery and a gift. I love listening to my favorite originals and then comparing them with the PMJ versions — it feels like two completely different energies, two different vibrations. 🔥 And Dave himself creates a unique atmosphere in the hot shop. He is not only an exceptional instructor — clear, patient, and thoughtful in the way he teaches but also a genuine person. Though Dave is reserved by nature, there is a great soul hidden inside him, and when he shares his quiet smile, it brings a special warmth to the room. It is the kind of steady strength that reminds me of a lion — calm on the surface, yet carrying the dignity and depth of the king of animals. It is no surprise, then, that as a Leo, Dave has an aura that is impossible to overlook. Being a Leo myself, I have met very few people with the same zodiac sign, which is why discovering that Dave and I share not only the sign but also the same birthday felt symbolic to me, like a gift and a meaningful coincidence. 🔥 The hot shop is my magical space. Here, I exist fully in the moment, with glass, fire, music, and above all, the wonderful and remarkable people who make this place feel like home.
