Jemimah Rodrigues stepped up and scored a fluent half-century. Returning from a head injury, India captain Harmanpreet Kaur fell cheaply as well, walking back for just one after facing two deliveries. It was the partnership for the fourth wicket between Rodrigues and Amanjot Kaur that brought India back into the contest. They added 93 runs in just 55 balls. Richa Ghosh walked in at number six and played a nice cameo, scoring 32 off just 20 balls to take the visitors over the 180-run mark. Lauren Bell was once again brilliant with the ball, taking two wickets and giving away only 17 runs from her four overs. Lauren Filer and Emily Arlott also chipped in with a wicket each. In reply, England lost both their openers early in the piece. Sophia Dunkley made one off five while Danielle Wyatt-Hodge scored one off two. Nat Sciver-Brunt was dismissed by Amanjot Kaur in the fourth over of the run chase, leaving the hosts tottering at 17/3 after 3.3 overs. Tammy Beaumont and Amy Jones steadied the ship with a 60-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Beaumont made 54 off 35, but once she lost her wicket, it was all but curtains for the hosts. Amy Jones (32), Emily Arlott (12*) and Sophie Ecclestone's breezy knock of 35 off 23 wasn't enough to take them home as they fell short by 24 runs in the end. Nallapureddy Charani was again brilliant with her variations, picking up two wickets from her four overs. Deepti Sharma and Amanjot Kaur both chipped in with a wicket apiece, while three batters were run out during England's reply.
