Pink Floyd - Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun (1971)

Pink Floyd - Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun (1971) A film clip for the Pink Floyd song "Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun" (from the album "Saucerful of Secrets" released 1968), as part of a segment on GTK**, the music show broadcast by the ABC, (Australia's government channel). Broadcast during their 1971 tour, the segment also included an interview with the band and some live footage. I am yet to confirm this, but I suspect that the clip was made in-house, by some guy at the ABC. I can't say whether Pink Floyd would approve, exactly, but as far as film-clips from the time are concerned, it is fairly well done: it comes off a bit like an Alain Robbe-Grillet film set in Australia, with all the sand and the "bikini babes" in arty poses. From a re-broadcast of the segment on Rage, (late-night music programme on ABC) in January 2008. ** Additional information (thanks MiMaKBaSS): "G.T.K. (Get To Know), was an oasis in what was the culural desert of rural Australia in the 70's."
