This solo shows Eddie was SO much more than just his two-handed tapping. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for masterpieces like Eruption, Mean Street Hot For Teacher, but to write off Edward Van Halen as "that tapping guy" is to ignore the soul, musicality & sheer innovation that formed the foundations of all his guitar work. This one really shows off his energy & athleticism, as well as his knack for taking key changes and 'out' chords, and making them sound natural, like they were always meant to be. Remember, it's music theory, not music fact 🤯 What's your fav part of this solo? It's tough to beat that 2nd main lick, the descending run ending on the 6th fret semi-tone bend.
