Two Charged in Weekend Homicide

On Saturday, March 8, 2014, at approximately 12:10 a.m., we were called to a residence in the 11400 block of Braniff Green S.W., after reports of a disturbance at a house party. Two 17-year-old males were found suffering from stab wounds and were transported by EMS to a local hospital. One of the victims was declared deceased upon arrival. The other victim was treated for his injuries. The deceased teen has been identified as Juliano Crawford-Vieira, 17, of Calgary. He died as the result of the stabbing. On Saturday, March 8, 2014, one man was arrested without incident and later charged. Roland Smith, 18, of Calgary, has been charged with one count each of second-degree murder and attempted murder. Another man was arrested on Sunday, March 9, 2014, without incident. Trent Guy Hynne, 19, of Calgary, has also been charged with one count each of second-degree murder and attempted murder.
