ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

I was going to talk about ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) - known in the US as Lou Gehrig's Disease and in the UK as Motor Neurone Disease - but due to the jokey nature of the video I didn't want to seem insincere or lowering the tone of a very serious subject. ALS is a fatal condition that effects the nerves and muscles, and in turn how you eat, walk, breath, everything; the daily functions that our bodies must use to continue living. This challenge is raising awareness and money for a very good cause; social media is being saturated with videos of people laughing and smiling, calling out their friends and family. I much prefer this to most of the other videos floating around at the moment. This really is an incredible sign that people can come together and spread hope across the world.
