Every day, I receive calls from people in over a dozen different states, claiming to have a photo of me, video calling in my name, and receiving calls in my name on Truecaller. Cybercriminals are constantly trying to defraud people. Everyone thinks the police have a magic wand that will wipe out cybercriminals. This isn't true. More cybercriminals are born every day than are caught. Today's youth prefer to earn money through shortcuts rather than hard work. Their ambition draws them to cybercrime because it requires minimal effort. A cybercriminal can spread his net even abroad while sitting in a state, and catching him is like finding a fish in the ocean. Even if caught, he often comes out of jail after a few days and gets involved in cybercrime again. Therefore, the only way is to raise awareness about cybercrime. We should spread the word about all the incidents that come to our attention. Many police officers and employees in our country have raised awareness through various means. Several police officers have published books on such incidents. The DGP of Uttarakhand Police recently published a book, "Cyber Encounter," based on true accounts of incidents perpetrated by cybercriminals. Each story highlights the plight of victims of cybercrime and how to avoid them. Each story exposes a trick used by cybercriminals. I have created and uploaded numerous videos on YouTube to raise awareness about cybercrime, but thousands of people continue to fall victim to it every day. Today, as the entire world grapples with cyberattacks, cybercrime is on the rise, and even superstar Amitabh Bachchan has not escaped this attack. Each story enriches our knowledge about the tactics used by fraudsters and how to protect ourselves from fraud. When people had to travel hundreds of kilometers for everyday essentials, they couldn't have imagined that one day everything would be online. Today, companies like Amazon eCards have made everything easy in every village. Now that everything is online, people have become digital, and thieves have also become digital. The youth who were supposed to take the country to the heights of Gauri Shankar by getting educated and adding to its glory have become online criminals. The era of dacoit Mangal Singh is no more. Today, everything has changed with time. Educated IT experts are committing robberies from five-star hotels. When educated people become criminals, and such criminals are invisible, this is a new challenge for the police. But the police are always ready to face every challenge. How the police face these challenges is also deeply explored in the book. People will learn how the police face challenges in such difficult circumstances, risking their lives. Despite my busy schedule, I remain vigilant and active in combating cybercrime. The Uttar Pradesh Police has opened high-tech cyber police stations at every range headquarters, with officers of the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police appointed at each station. Cyber police stations have been made hi-tech because the future holds the prospect of cyberattacks, and we must be prepared to deal with them at all times. Today, the Uttar Pradesh Police is making efforts to detect cybercrimes and put criminals behind bars. I commend all the officers and employees of the police department for their commendable work in combating cybercrime. Those skilled police officers who risked their lives under difficult circumstances and successfully imprisoned cybercriminals deserve congratulations. If you see a photo or video of a police officer in an over-voiced voice offering you a company advertisement, a suitable opportunity to work for the company, or any other lure of money, then understand that this person is a cybercriminal.
