Albrecht Keyless Chunk Repair @ Honeycutt Racing

Ever since bought drill press the Albrecht drill chuck would stick and wouldn't open up to the full 1/2, watched a YouTube video and got the info needed to pull the thing apart (    • Albrecht chuck service   ) She was a beast too pull apart!!! Had to soak in air gun oil over night and then heated er good with last of the map gas we had and boy was she dirty, nasty and broken!!! Found out they where few problems with it, the dirty- nasty corrosion, the chuck jaws where binding and 6 of the ball bearings had failed, guess that's why had to break chuck loose with 2 pipe wrenches when used a 1/2 shanked bit!! When I point @ chuck, that's as far as it used to move! But she's cleaned, oiled, jaws honed on diamond hone and replaced bearing out of a old roller bearing saved in drawers!!! Saved $40.00 plus by using/cutting up a $2.00 roller bearing!!!! Gotta say she was build tough, Made in Germany many years ago, just needed some TLC!!!
