Thiruppavai is a collection of songs sung by Andal, thinking of herself as a Gopi. She is the only woman among the twelve Alvars. She is worth mentioning because she considered reaching the feet of Kannan as her life's goal. Tiruppavai is a compilation of 30 verses written in Tamil by Andal in accolade bestowed on the Lord Perumal, (Vishnu). It is segment of Divya Prabandha, an endeavor by the 12 Alvars, and is considered paramount and supreme in Tamil literature. Kodhai Devi or Andal observed a phenomenal vratham called Dhanurmasa vratham to aspire all banausic happiness along with the eternal ecstasy and bliss. In Thiruppavai, Andal accords a ubiquitous call to all people to recite the name, grandeur and glories of Lord. The procedure of awakening her mates and proceeding to the river-bed, with Bhajan and to bathe the Deity, is the topic of Tiruppavai. This tradition embraces special connotation during Margazhi: each day of this month is identified from one of the 30 verses. There are innuendo references to the assertion in the late-sangam era Tamil musical anthology Paripadal. Andal's 30 songs encompass the key ethics of Vaishnava dharma during Marghazhi. Adherent devotees sing these songs to bring peace, prosperity and Divine Grace. They sing the praises of Lord Krishna for eternal happiness and service of the Lord, who in turn blesses them. Tiruppavai teaches us to feel emotion while praying to the Lord. It enables us to perceive the Prakriti, Paramatma and Jeevas merging with each other by Para Bhakthi.
