As the rain falls today, I’m reminded of Deuteronomy 11, where God tells the people of Israel they must rely on Him for provision. Unlike Egypt, where the Nile River provided consistent water, Israel had to trust God’s seasonal rains for their crops. This was a test of faith—would they trust in God’s timing, or would they seek provision elsewhere? We face the same temptation today. God promises peace, joy, and salvation, but not always in the ways or amounts we expect.
