In today’s silent POV vlog I spend a calm day at home in Fethiye getting everything ready before flying back to England to visit my family 🇬🇧 I start by clearing out the kitchen and using up leftover ingredients to make a comforting homemade French onion soup before my journey. I also prepare a packed lunch to take with me as I prefer bringing my own food rather than relying on airport prices ✈️ After that I packed my bag and got ready for the journey to Dalaman Airport before flying back to Manchester. Don’t forget to like, comment and subscribe @Thepinkladytravels to follow more of my life as a British expat living in Turkey 💛 Closed captions are available in the settings, where you can also select your preferred language *My French Onion Soup and Cheesy Garlic Bread Recipe Serves 2 Ingredients 4 onions, thinly sliced 2 cloves of garlic, minced 1 tbsp butter 1 tbsp olive oil 1 tbsp flour 1 tbsp sugar Salt & pepper, to taste 400 ml beef, chicken, or vegetable stock Cheesy Garlic Bread Bread of your choice 1 tbsp butter, softened 1 tsp garlic salt 100 g cheese (mozzarella or cheddar work well) Method French Onion Soup 1. Heat the olive oil and butter in a pan over medium heat 2. Add the sliced onions and sugar, then cover with a lid 3. Cook gently for 20–30 minutes stirring occasionally, until the onions are soft, golden and caramelised (not burnt) 4. Stir in the garlic, flour, salt and pepper 5. Pour in the stock and mix well 6. Let it simmer for 10 minutes until bubbling and slightly thickened Cheesy Garlic Bread 1. Mix the softened butter and garlic salt together 2. Spread evenly over your chosen bread 3. Top with grated cheese 4.
