US: CNN changes course

08/07/2022 Brussels British musician Roger Waters, 78, co-founder of the band Pink Floyd, calls Biden a “war criminal” and vigorously defends Russia and China during an interview on CNN. During his ongoing “This Is Not a Drill Tour,” Roger Waters agreed to sit down with CNN presenter Michael Smerconish to discuss the overly politicized topics and messages presented on his show. Smerconish began the interview by asking Waters why he called President Joe Biden a “war criminal.” “He’s fomenting war in Ukraine,” the musician-activist responded. “It’s a huge crime. Why doesn’t the United States of America push [Volodymyr] Zelensky to negotiate and eliminate the need for this terrible, terrible war?” When Smerconish pointed out that Waters was “blaming the side that was invaded,” Waters countered by criticizing NATO for provoking Russia. With any war, you can say, "When did it start? What you have to do is look at history, and you can say, 'Well, it started on this day.'" "Or you can say it started in 2008," Waters continued. "On the border with Russia, which they promised not to do when Gorbachev was negotiating the withdrawal of the Soviet Union from all of Eastern Europe."
