Saint of the Day - Saint Joseph of Cupertino : September 18

St Joseph of Cupertino (Copertino) [7 Jun 1603–18 Sept 1663] , was an Italian Conventual Franciscan friar who is honoured as a Christian Mystic and Saint. According to traditional Franciscan accounts, he was "remarkably un-clever", but experienced miraculous levitation and ecstatic visions throughout his life which made him the object of scorn During Mass or prayer, he would often be lifted from his feet—he was observed levitating more than 70 times. The experience of levitation is a physical expression of the deep prayer that raises the heart and mind to God.
