WATCH: Traffic Stop Turns Into Foot Pursuit & Ends With [ARREST]

MARION COUNTY, FLORIDA - Marion County Sheriff's Office released dash cam & body cam footage of a traffic stop that turned into a foot pursuit and ended with arrest . On Wednesday, February 24, 2021, a Marion County Sheriff's Office Deputy observed a black and silver 2- door Honda traveling at 73mph in a 45mph zone, driving into oncoming traffic, and swerving all over the road. The deputy then activated his emergency lights and and siren in an attempt to pull that vehicle over, but the 27-year-old male driver failed to stop. After continuing to flee and elude for a while the driver eventually came to a screeching stop in someone's front yard and then fled the vehicle on foot. The deputy chased him for approximately 100 yards before he caught up to him and took him into custody. A search revealed the man/suspect was in possession of Fentanyl and drug paraphernalia. His license was also suspended and he was previously convicted for driving with a suspended license on two other occasions. The vehicle he was driving was also not registered.
