Many children believe that if you make a wish after seeing the first star in the night sky, your wish will come true. The song was written by Ned Washington & Leigh Harline for Disney's "Pinocchio" in 1940. It won the 1940 Oscar for 'Best Original Song' and was subsequently adopted as the theme song for the Walt Disney Co.
