CHULA VISTA -Pedestrian suffers fatal injuries while crossing street

On 1/30/21 at approximately 7:11 PM, Chula Vista PD & Fire responded to a pedestrian that was hit by a vehicle near the 600 block of E Street In Chula Vista. According to CVPD, a 57 year old male was crossing the street. The pedestrian was not in a cross walk, and was stuck by a vehicle heading East bound on E Street. First responders initiated CPR, and was transported to a nearby hospital. The 57 year old male was pronounced deceased roughly 2 hours after being admitted. The driver of the vehicle, stayed on scene and cooperated with Police. CVPD is conducting their investigation, but did state that the area was dark and the pedestrian did not utilize a cross walk. Drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the accident. The area was closed for several hours.
