Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Campaign ACT 2 Mission 7 Goalpost 4K Storyline : Hours after killing General Shepherd, Price and Nikolai take a badly injured Soap to a Russian loyalist safe house in Himachal Pradesh for treatment. When Makarov sends troops to eliminate them, the group flees with the help of Yuri, an associate of Nikolai's with the same grudge against Makarov. Meanwhile, an American team of four Delta Force personnel called Metal assists in repelling Russian troops in New York City, destroying the Russian spectrum jamming tower atop the Wall Street Stock Exchange, and hijacking an Oscar II class submarine to wipe out the Russian Navy in New York Bay. As a direct result, Russia withdrew its troops from the East Coast. Two months later, Makarov and his operatives hijack a plane en route to Hamburg, containing the President of Russia, Boris Vorshevsky, to derail a planned peace agreement with the United States. After killing several members of the FSO, Makarov reveals to the President of Russia that he intends for Russia to "take over all of Europe" using its nuclear arsenal. Vorshevsky refuses to provide the launch codes, so Makarov orders a search for his daughter, Alena, to provide them. Next, he ordered chemical bombs to be transported from Sierra Leone to the capitals of every NATO-affiliated nation, in order to paralyze their intelligence networks and military bases. Despite the SAS team's attempts to prevent an explosion on London, the attack is successful, allowing Russian troops to attack most of Europe. In response, the US military was deployed to help fend off the invasion, including a rescue operation to save the Vice President of the United States in Hamburg from being invaded. During the chaos, Price's team gets a tip from their former commander, MacMillan, which allows him to identify the bomb maker as Volk, CEO of Fregata Industries. After killing Volk's Somali contact, Waraabe, Price relays intel to Metal. Metal captures Volk in Paris with the help of GIGN and other US troops. After interrogating Volk, Metal informs Price about a meeting Makarov wants to hold in Prague. Assisted by loyalist Russian troops under the command of Sgt. Kamarov and the Czech partisans, Price's team attempt to kill Makarov, only to discover that he anticipated this and set a trap for them. Kamarov is killed by a bomb vest and despite managing to escape Makarov's trap and men, Soap is badly injured during the chaos, and dies shortly after revealing to Price that Makarov knew Yuri. An enraged Price interrogates Yuri at gunpoint and Yuri confirms to Price his former affiliations with Makarov and Imran Zakhaev, helping the couple in Pripyat after the mission to kill Price, but being disillusioned by the pair's use of nuclear weapons in the Middle East. When Yuri attempts to defect and warn the authorities about Makarov's plan, Makarov critically shoots him before the airport massacre in Moscow and leaves him for dead, leaving him to be rescued by airport security. Price reluctantly maintains their alliance, and with help from MacMillan, infiltrates Makarov's castle base near Prague to seek information on Makarov's location. Knowing that Alena was found hiding in Berlin, Price conveyed this information to Team Metal. Although they fail to save Alena before she is captured by Makarov's men, the Vorshevskys are tracked to a Siberian diamond mine, with Metal, Yuri and Price launch a rescue mission. Though the group is successful, Metal sacrifices themselves to ensure the safe extraction of Yuri, Price and the Vorshevskys, when the mine begins to collapse. Afterward, Russia and the United States called for a ceasefire, which led to the withdrawal of Russian troops from Europe as both countries focused on peace talks and Task Force 141 was reinstated. Meanwhile, Price and Yuri track Makarov to a hotel in the Arabian Peninsula in January 2017. With Nikolai's help, the pair manage to overcome his remaining troops with heavy equipment and prevent them from escaping via helicopter. As Makarov gains the upper hand in a struggle, Yuri intervenes and is killed by Makarov, but his diversion causes Price to strangle Makarov and hang him by a steel cable. As the police approached the hotel, a victorious Price smoked a cigar.
