The Last of Us Part I : Downtown

With the truth about Ellie finally out in the open, The Outskirts chapter takes a darker and more dangerous turn. As Joel, Tess, and Ellie push deeper into the ruined city, the possibility of a cure clashes with the brutal reality of the infected world. This section introduces clickers, heavier combat, and some of the most intense moments so far. 🏙️ Downtown Boston Walkthrough With time to process what they’ve learned, Joel and Tess argue over what to do next. Ellie explains that her immunity could help create a cure. Joel refuses to risk everything on a long shot, while Tess clings to the hope that this could finally mean something. Despite Joel’s objections, Tess decides to continue toward the Capitol Building, and Ellie follows, leaving Joel little choice but to come along. The group moves through downtown Boston until a massive chasm blocks their path, forcing them into the partially collapsed Goldstone Building. 🧟 Inside the Goldstone Building As they navigate the unstable structure, the trio encounters multiple infected, including clickers. Tess explains what clickers are to Ellie as Joel forces a jammed door open. Moments later, Joel is ambushed and knocked to the ground by a clicker, only surviving because Tess reacts quickly and shoots it. Further inside, they discover a squad of soldiers who had passed through earlier but were torn apart by stalkers, reinforcing just how deadly the area has become. ⚠️ Stealth and Survival To avoid attracting clickers, Joel uses bricks and bottles to distract them while the group climbs a wall and sneaks past. Near the exit, a large group of runners blocks their way. Joel must fight them off so Tess and Ellie can escape safely. After the fight, Tess briefly praises Joel, but he brushes it off, clearly weighed down by the situation. 🚇 Subway Station Escape The group reaches a subway station where they find dead Fireflies, a Molotov cocktail, and a note revealing that they are not the group the Fireflies were waiting for.
