Campaign Act 3 – Final Mission The mission begins right after the events of “Just Like Old Times.” Captain Price and Soap MacTavish pursue General Shepherd, who betrayed Task Force 141. Shepherd attempts to escape via Zodiac boat down a river while his men cover his retreat. Soap and Price commandeer a speedboat and give chase through a winding, fast-paced river filled with enemy patrol boats and helicopters. Explosions, gunfire, and debris make the chase chaotic and cinematic. The player (Soap) must navigate the river, avoiding obstacles while gunning down Shepherd’s forces. As the pursuit reaches its climax, Shepherd boards a helicopter to escape. Price manages to throw a rope onto it, causing both him and Shepherd to fall into the water. Soap, injured but determined, crawls to confront Shepherd. A brutal hand-to-hand fight ensues between Price and Shepherd. Soap, weakened from a knife wound, pulls the blade from his own chest and throws it into Shepherd’s head, finally killing him. Price helps Soap up as a helicopter arrives to extract them. The game closes with a cutscene showing both men being airlifted to safety while the world remains in chaos, setting the stage for Modern Warfare 3. It’s a cinematic, high-intensity finale filled with speedboat chases, explosions, and a dramatic showdown with Shepherd—wrapping up MW2 with one of the most iconic endings in the Call of Duty series.
