First Reading: Acts 22:30; 23:6-11 Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 16:1-2a and 5, 7-8, 9-10, 11 Alleluia: John 17:21 Gospel: John 17:20-26 In today’s gospel reading, as part of Jesus’ final prayer to His Father, He asks Him to make the apostles one with Him and with one another. Including yesterday’s reading, Jesus repeats His prayer of unity four times, underscoring what the apostles and we all will face ⏤ the forces of evil that will try to keep us disunited. In the first reading, Paul's discourse on the resurrection of the body leads to heated arguments between the Pharisees and Sanhedrins ⏤ the former in agreement and the latter opposing the idea. This is the 408th installment of our CFC quarantine contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings. [NOTE: All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
