Natural Hair Journey |Growth Check Wash Day and Box Braids

Hey there! It was time that I took my old braids down (my version of Marley Twists) and wash and rebraid. I have never done Box Braids on myself before, but I am so happy with the results!. My natural hair has really grown since chopping my Locs, I think it has A LOT to do with switching to a Plant-Based Diet. My natural hair before locs was always brittle and braking and I think it has a lot to do with mediocre nutrition. Now when I detangle my hair, I don't have a comb full of hair, and my hair doesn't break when running my fingers through it. I also will use nothing but absolutely organic and natural products on my hair. I happened to be in a pinch and used Redken All Soft Mega shampoo and conditioner, and I have never had such an itchy scalp, this was the first and last time in a long time, I use anything unnatural in my hair. I think the braids came out pretty good for the first attempt, I call it Mermaid hair and my daughter can't stop playing with it! I am so happy that I can do my own hair and not dump hundreds at the hair salon. That has to be one of the best parts of being natural, knowing how to work with all types of styles!
