Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, from... Qatar! 🎅 Joyeux Noël, Bonnes fêtes, depuis... le Qatar ! (🇫🇷français plus bas) [🇺🇸EN] I celebrated Christmas Eve with my host @sameer9978, who's Hindi & hence wasn't meant to celebrate it by himself (even though he's told me that in India many people celebrate it, like any other major holiday... smart move haha), but as I was with him here he bought me/us some Xmas cookies & desserts (such a nice thought & guy). Also, I had a video call with my family in France during their Xmas Eve dinner As for Xmas Day, I spent it with a group of international people, after I posted on an Facebook group of Expats in Qatar, mentioning I was looking for people to celebrate with... this is when @mobaker01 (Saudi who grew up in Eritrea) wrote me to invite me to the party his best friend @guildedsavage (American who grew up in Alaska & the Philippines) was hosting, along with her husband from Tunisia. I invited @travelandfilm from France, that I met during the World Cup, and whom had asked me what I was doing for the holidays. And I made more new friends including @kenirole from Nigeria & @zahrae895 from Morocco There were lots of food & drinks... including some one may have thought it wasn't possible to get here: I personally don't drink, but for the ones wondering, it's possible to buy alcohol to bring home if you have a permit... and same goes with pork products A very international, and unexpected, celebration And yet another proof that everything is possible when you want and go for it 🥳 🙏 Thanks a lot, merci, dhanyavād, shukran, to everyone who was part of this 🤗 🎅 Merry Christmas 🎄 Joyeux Noël 🌟 عيد ميلاد مجيد (eid milad majid) 🤶 क्रिसमस की बधाई (krisamas kee badhaee) 🕯️ ❓ Would YOU have thought I could celebrate Christmas this way in Qatar? 💬 ❤️💬↗️🔖 [🇫🇷FR] J'ai célébré le réveillon de Noël avec mon hôte @sameer9978, qui est Hindou et n'était donc pas censé le célébrer seul (même s'il m'a dit qu'en Inde, beaucoup de gens le célèbrent, comme toutes les autres grandes fêtes... malin ahahah), mais comme j'étais avec lui ici, il m'a/nous a acheté des biscuits et desserts de Noël (une si belle pensée et un bon gars). Aussi, j'ai eu un appel vidéo avec ma famille en France pendant leur dîner de réveillon Quant au jour de Noël, je l'ai passé avec un groupe de personnes internationales, après avoir posté sur un groupe Facebook d'expatriés au Qatar, mentionnant que je cherchais des gens avec qui célébrer... c'est là que @mobaker01 (Saoudien qui a grandi en Érythrée) m'a écrit pour m'inviter à la fête que sa meilleure amie @guildedsavage (Américaine qui a grandi en Alaska et aux Philippines) organisait, avec son mari venant de Tunisie. J'ai invité @travelandfilm de France, que j'ai rencontrée pendant la coupe du monde, et qui m'avait demandé ce que je faisais pour les fêtes.
