Today I headed into Tokyo to work with some YouTube friends at a cafe in Shimbashi — and while I was there, I spent the afternoon walking around one of Japan's classic "salaryman towns." Shimbashi is a place office workers love: cheap-and-fast lunch spots, golf shops, regional food fairs from all over Japan (I stopped at the Nara, Ehime and Kagawa booths), an old steam locomotive that's become a symbol of the town, and the lively little bars tucked under the train tracks. In the evening I went to Shinagawa to drink with someone I used to do video editing for. Over beer and Hoppy — the cheap drink salarymen love — we talked about delivery work, the bike I've been eyeing, and whether being a Japanese company worker is really so bad. Honestly, it was a great refresh, and I was reminded how much I value a moderate drink and friends to talk life over with. This is a real, unfiltered look at a day in salaryman Japan. 🚶 A day walking around Japan's salaryman town — Shimbashi, and drinks in Shinagawa. ☕ If you'd like to support the channel 👉 https://buymeacoffee.com/kazuinjapan ⏱️ Chapters 0:00 🚶 A day in salaryman town 0:44 🍳 Breakfast at home 1:31 🎒 Heading into Tokyo 2:52 🚉 Arriving at Shimbashi 3:10 🎰 Capsule toys for my wife 4:48 ⛳ Golf shops in salaryman town 6:34 🍚 A quick tuna bowl lunch 7:32 🏯 Nara regional fair 10:08 🍊 Ehime & Kagawa fair 12:05 🚂 The famous steam engine 13:47 🏮 Bars under the train tracks 15:24 🥐 My favorite bakery 16:15 🍺 Drinks in Shinagawa 19:12 🏮 A classic cheap izakaya 21:43 💬 Are salarymen so bad? 22:15 🌃 Heading home #japan #tokyo #japanlife #japanvlog #vlog
