The domestic effort to interdict illicit radiological and nuclear material is designed largely around law enforcement agencies across the country deploying a Preventative Radiological Nuclear Detection (PRND) capability in a coordinated and collaborative manner. Currently that concept is challenged due to the enormity of the task and the mechanisms of government. A common planning framework such as a Concept of Operations (CONOPS) is a critical first step to uniting the disparate efforts of these organizations into a single, cohesive detection network. item ID: 2969
