Spike Lee takes on an Akira Kurosawa classic with "Highest 2 Lowest." This is Lee's version of the 1963 film "High and Low," which we're also reviewing. In his fifth pairing with the director, Denzel Washington stars as a music industry titan who must decide whether to pay $17.5 million in ransom when his best friend's son gets kidnapped, or use the money as he'd planned to take over the record label he founded. We do not agree on this movie! Both films are based on the Ed McBain novel "King's Ransom." Co-starring Jeffrey Wright, Ilfenesh Hadera, Aubrey Joseph and A$AP Rocky.
