Touching and seeing Jesus’ wounds in his hands and feet does not just invoke trauma, but demonstrates that, as the resurrection reality is touchable, God is reachable. Jesus lifts his wounded hands to bless his followers—women and men—to be witnesses to how they experience the resurrection today. We are God’s beloved children, called into fellowship with the Father and the Son, called to grow evermore into the likeness of the One who has called us, anticipating the day when he will be fully revealed.
