Vientiane Tour… We Found a Burned Abandoned House 😳

Join me as I explore a creepy abandoned house in Vientiane, Laos. Hidden away in the capital city, this once-beautiful home now stands empty after a fire reportedly damaged it several years ago. While the exact details remain unclear, the atmosphere and mystery surrounding this place make it a fascinating urban exploration. Vientiane is a peaceful and welcoming city, full of charm, friendly people, and hidden corners waiting to be discovered. Beyond its temples and cafes, there are also forgotten places like this, each with its own story to tell. I’ve always been drawn to abandoned buildings and the history they hold. Walking through them feels like stepping back in time, imagining what life was like before they were left behind. This house is no exception. If you know anything about what happened here, feel free to share in the comments. It became the capital in 1563, partly due to concerns over a potential Burmese invasion. In 1827, much of the city was destroyed during conflict with Siam (modern-day Thailand), leaving behind a dramatic chapter in its history. During the period of French colonial rule, Vientiane served as the administrative center, and in recent years it has grown into the economic heart of Laos. The city is home to some of the country’s most important cultural and religious landmarks, including That Luang, the national symbol of Laos and a major Buddhist monument. Other notable temples, such as Haw Phra Kaew—once home to the Emerald Buddha—add to the city’s rich spiritual heritage. Today, Vientiane has an estimated population of around 760,000 people and continues to develop while maintaining its laid-back charm. It also hosted the 25th Southeast Asian Games in 2009, marking 50 years of the regional sporting event. #travel #vientiane #abandonedplaces
