Ingredients: 4 eggs 1 cup water 1⁄2 teaspoon salt Flour 3 tablespoons butter Directions: 1 lb feta cheese 1⁄2 bunch parsley (optional) 2 cups carbonated water 2 cups water This recipe is a simplified version of a famous traditional “Water Borek”. In a bowl, combine the eggs, water and salt. Gradually add flour until you make dough. Cover and let it rest. Divide the dough into 18 equal portions. Roll them out to a plate size shapes. Stack 9 of them spreading butter in between the layers. You should end up with two piles. Let them rest in a refrigerator for 20 min. Roll out the first pile to a round single piece (the size of a baking dish). Grease the pan with butter. Place this sheet of dough in a baking pan and spread the cheese (and parsley -if desired) filling over it. Roll out the second pile of dough the same way and layer it on top of the borek. Cut the borek to rectangular pieces. Pour the remaining melted butter over it. Bake in the preheated to 350 degrees oven until the top just starts to change the color to light brown. Take it out of the oven and pour the water and carbonated water over the borek. Place it back in the oven and let cook until the top is golden brown. Let it slightly cool before serving.
