Active Voice: Active voice is a grammatical construction in which the subject of a sentence performs the action described by the verb. It is a straightforward and direct way of presenting information, as the subject is the doer of the action, and the sentence structure usually follows the pattern of subject-verb-object. Active voice sentences are typically concise, clear, and more engaging for readers because they highlight the agent responsible for the action. For example, in the sentence "The cat chased the mouse," "the cat" is the subject performing the action of chasing. Passive Voice: Passive voice, on the other hand, is a grammatical construction in which the subject of a sentence receives the action rather than performing it. In passive voice sentences, the focus shifts away from the doer of the action to the recipient or the affected entity. The typical structure of a passive voice sentence is object-verb-subject, and it often includes a form of the verb "to be" (e.g., is, was, were) along with the past participle of the main verb. Passive voice is often used when the doer of the action is less important or unknown, or when the writer wants to emphasize the result or the receiver of the action. For example, in the passive sentence "The mouse was chased by the cat," the focus is on the mouse (the receiver of the action), and the doer of the action (the cat) is less emphasized.
