http://www.NoMoreShame.com | (855) 971-0991 Alyssa, who has been Sober Since 2011 explains what the stigma of addiction is, and how that can effect people who need help. In the 2011 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, it was found that an estimated 21.6 million people were classified as needing treatment for drug or alcohol abuse. Out of those 21.6 million people, only 10.8% received help. How can the 19.3 million still suffering be reached? The #NoMoreShame movement is an effort to break the stigma of addiction. We have started the conversation that those still suffering from this terrible disease should not be ashamed to ask for help. Likewise, those who have already begun their recovery journey should not be ashamed of their past. Recovery is the bridge between who you were, and who you have become. The movement began by asking people to share photos from before they were in recovery and after using #NoMoreShame. By sharing these images, people are taking action against the stigma of addiction and showing that they feel. The #NoMoreShame wristbands can be ordered for free at http://www.NoMoreShame.com . We encourage you to take photos with those in the recovery community, and with family and friends who support you. All that we ask is for you continue to spread the hope that there is freedom from addiction, and nobody should be ashamed to ask for help. Thank you for all of your support and we can’t wait to receive your photos! __________________ Social Links: Facebook: / thetreatmentcenter Twitter: / treatmentcopb Pinterest: / treatmentcenter Google: https://plus.google.com/+Thetreatment...
