Sixteen years ago, Atsu’s family was brutally murdered by the infamous Yōtei Six, leaving her for dead and scarred both physically and emotionally. Now, she returns to the wild frontier of Ezo (modern-day Hokkaidō) as the legendary Ghost of Yōtei, determined to hunt down each of the Six — The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon, and their ruthless leader Lord Saitō — in any order she chooses. Along her journey, Atsu forges alliances with unlikely companions. Oyuki, a wandering shamisen performer with a hidden past as a Shinobi, seeks redemption; her younger brother Jubei, long thought lost, fights alongside her; and Kiku, Jubei’s daughter, becomes a symbol of hope and the future Atsu is fighting to protect. Together, they face the deadly lieutenants of Saitō and unravel his plan to seize control of Ezo. In a final confrontation, Atsu and Jubei confront Lord Saitō, rescuing Kiku and ending his reign of terror. Though victory comes at a personal cost, Atsu lays down her mantle as the Ghost and embraces a life of peace, raising Kiku alongside Oyuki and honoring the memory of those she lost. Ghost of Yōtei is a tale of vengeance, redemption, and the enduring strength of family and honor.
