White Rann was NOT White! š± Road to Heaven Reality | Gujarat Road Trip Ep 5
In Episode 5 of our Gujarat Road Trip, the Crazy Kalias family takes you on an unforgettable journey from the ancient ruins of the Indus Valley Civilization to the famous White Desert of Kutch. But we faced a BIG reality check when we reached the White Rann! š« š Sunrise & Flamingos at Ekal Ka Rann We started our morning at Amrapur (Ekal Ka Rann), witnessing a breathtaking sunrise surrounded by thousands of migratory birds and Flamingos. It was freezing cold and muddy (we had a bit of a shoe disaster!), but the view of the birds flying in symmetry was unreal. šļø Dholavira: 5,000 Year Old Harappan City We explored the UNESCO World Heritage site of Dholavira. Our guide took us through the history of this massive site, discovered in 1967 by J.P. Joshi and excavated heavily in the 90s. Walking through a city that is 5,000 years old, seeing the ancient reservoirs, and understanding how the Harappan people lived was a mesmerizing experience. š¦ Wood Fossil Park & The Sea Just 10km from Dholavira, we visited the Wood Fossil Park. Itās hard to believe, but we saw fossils that are 18 Crore (180 Million) years old right next to the ocean!. Itās a hidden gem where the land ends and the vast ocean begins. š£ļø Driving the ROAD TO HEAVEN We finally drove on the viral Road to Heavenāthe 30km stretch from Dholavira to Dhordo that cuts right through the ocean! Driving with water on both sides is an experience you cannot miss in Gujarat. š± The Reality of White Rann (Dhordo) Here is the truth: Due to unseasonal rains, the White Rann was NOT whiteāit was wet!. We tried to walk on the salt, but our feet sank into the mud.
