I recorded this guitar/vocal live cover at a gig in 1981, not expecting it to reach so many listeners. Thank you for proving me wrong in the best possible way! "This Masquerade" is one of the most beautiful jazz standards of the 1970s — blending soul, smooth jazz, and heartfelt lyrics. George Benson’s version has always been a huge inspiration for me, both as a guitarist and as a lifelong fan of jazz music. I considered this performance “incomplete” (this Short and the fuller Long-form video) but perhaps that honesty is what makes music connect. Your support reminds me why I share these pieces at all.
