You also must be ready, for the Son of Man will come at an hour you least expect." Then Peter asked, "Lord, are you telling this parable to us, or to everyone?" The Lord said to him, "Who then is the faithful and prudent manager whom the Lord will put over his staff, to distribute his grain rations at the proper time? Blessed is the one whose master finds this work when he comes! Truly, I say to you, he will make him manager of all his possessions. But if this servant thinks, 'My master is delaying his coming,' and goes about beating the menservants and maidservants and eating and drinking and getting drunk, his master will come at a day and hour he least expects and will punish him and make him suffer the same fate as the unfaithful. The servant who, knowing his master's will, did not have things prepared and did not act according to his purpose, will be severely punished. But the one who, unaware, also became guilty, will be punished less severely. From whom much has been given, much will be required; and from whom much has been entrusted, much more will be required."
