Women’s Health: Uterus Fibroids

Fibroids are usually a benign growth in different parts of the uterus, explains Dr. Alberto Sirven, Obstetrician & Gynecologist with West Kendall Baptist Hospital, who supports his explanation using a digital imaging. The doctor describes fibroids are classified by their location in the uterus: pedunculated fibroid (it grows in the fundus of the uterus): intramural (is inside the muscle of the uterus); subserosal fibroid (forms between the muscle and the serosa) and submucous fibroid (is detected in the lining of the endometrium).
