You are the man! With those words King David finally realized how far he had fallen. The prophet’s finger pointed directly at him. Murder, adultery, rape - these were not from the heart he had started with - God’s own heart. How had this happened? In Psalm 51 he cries out to God to create a new heart, not to fix the one he had, but start with a new heart. And renew a steadfast spirit within him. He continues, Cast me not from your presence Restore to me the Joy of your salvation. Psalm 51 would mark the low point in his life. For 3000 years, fallen people have taken refuge in these words, uttered by one so loved by God yet so fallen and sinful. In them there is always hope for a new heart, a new spirit within us. Here are the words King David wrote all those years ago. Thanks as always to Sara Renner, Cristian, Holly Gallagher, new friend Remi and of course the fine Mrs. Barrett. Thank you so much for your excellence and hard work to bring this to life.
