Roka yo Samay - Tribal Rain

Roka yo Samay is a song from the self-titled album Roka yo Samay by the band Tribal Rain released in 2017. Tribal Rain is an acoustic experimental Nepali band from Namchi, Sikkim formed in 2013 by Rahul Rai, Prawes Lama, Kenneth Adhikari and Sushant Ghatani. My story of how i discovered Rahul da's music goes something like this while in school i had heard the song Bhanai in around 2018 and then Jiunu nai Hola. These two songs were and still are completely different from the music that was around at that time the unconventional guitar parts, his melodic voice and his incredible lyrics. So after listening to these two songs i had made an opinion in my mind of what the band and their music was about. Then i came to know the tragic news of Rahul da's passing much later in i think 2019. Then as time went by i learnt that they had an entire album consisting 11 songs, i started listening them carefully on repeat singing the songs and finally came to realize the musical genius of Rahul da. Since then i have watched every unreleased song and video of Rahul da that i can find on Youtube. I was probably one of the first few people who watched the documentary of Rahul da. But no matter how many videos i will watch of da, he will always be a mysterious person for me. had he been alive i would have met him by now, a once in a generation artist gone too soon leaving us with such few heavenly songs, making us remember him forever. remembering Rahul Rai ...
