Terraria 1.4 - Pure Summoner Master Mode For The Worthy Wall of Flesh (Video Game)

Just barely doable lmao A short essay on the strategy for this stinky tire fire: As always, the main problem for summoner is that minion AI is trash so you need to do a lot of jank things to get your summons to actually deal consistent dps. You have to use the whip as little as possible because whipping any of the adds causes your summons to stop targeting the Wall, and considering the Wall is the biggest dps race in the game you need any damage you can get. Trying to get close enough to the Wall to whip it is a death sentence because not only can the hungry 3 shot you at certain stages of the fight, contact with the Wall in Master Mode 1 shots you making it way more dangerous than it usually is. Clearing the adds out before targeting the wall also doesn't work because you don't have nearly enough dps to reliably clear enough of them before they all respawn. This means that your best dps is targeting the wall and spamming the Ballista Rod while only using your whip to clear out the hungry if they start piling up. Worth noting that if you target the top eye or mouth of the wall you can sometimes get the Ballista Rod to fire up and hit multiple segments which can provide a big boost. The Explosive Trap Rod is also great to have because it obliterates leeches without changing targets. Dealing enough damage before it crosses the world isn't actually too hard, but the Wall of Flesh is garbage so the real fight starts when it gets to low health and starts being faster than you. There's no real strategy at that point so just kill leeches with the explosive traps, whip it when it gets into range, and pray that the lasers and spawns are kind. I'm aware that minecarts are theoretically faster than the Wall, but entering them kills your momentum way too much at that stage. You could try entering it sooner, but that means that you won't be able to dodge much of anything because summoner needs to stay close in order for minions to attack. There still might be a strat with minecarts, but I couldn't find one and didn't really want to try and find one either. There were a couple of small optimizations that could have been made with gear, mostly bringing inferno potions to help with the last phase, but those are cringe to get in For the Worthy so I didn't bother and it still worked out all right. I did bring lifeforce potions, but I never dropped below 80 so they didn't technically do anything lol In conclusion, the Wall of Flesh is the hardest boss in the playthrough so far because it is poopoo smelly bad.
